by Jessica Howard

At Parchem –fine & specialty chemicals, we strive to always be ahead in chemical innovations, having established partnerships with manufacturers across the globe. In order to accommodate our customers who produce polyurethane-based industrial and consumer products, we are continually growing our catalog to include a wide range of isocyanates, a group of compounds used as cross-linking
for polyurethanes.

The basic building block behind foams and insulation materials, coatings and adhesives, car seats, furniture, packaging materials, and shoes, polyurethanes encompass a diverse array of products, each requiring its own specific type of isocyanate. We are excited to feature isophorone diisocyanate among our supply. Isophorone diisocyanate is used in the production of specialized enamel coatings such as the exterior paint used on aircraft, which is resistant to abrasion and UV degradation.

Isophorone Diisocyanate has the CAS number 4098-71-9, and can also be identified as cyclohexane, 3-Isocyanatomethyl-3,5,5-trimethyl cyclohexylisocyanate, and IPDI, for short. This clear, colorless to yellow liquid compound is miscible with esters, ketones, ethers, aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, and is sensitive to moisture. Additional isocyanates supplied by Parchem include hexamethylene diisocyanate and toluene diisocyanate, p-toluenesulfonyl Isocyanate, and octadecyl Isocyanate, which have many applications from plastics to adhesives and more!

At Parchem, our knowledgeable staff will help source the exact chemical you need based on application and grade specification. We can tailor the pack size and configuration of isocyanates to the drum, can, pail, or bottle. We ship globally, in strict accordance with federal and international regulatory agency standards, as demonstrated by our ISO 9001 certification.
