Used in the recovery of hydrophobic ore sulfides, lead-zinc ores, low grade copper ores, and ores that contain a minimal amount of zinc. 
It is selective against iron sulfides at lower pH than other xanthates. Used as a precipitant of hydrometallurgical industry. Used as avulcanization accelerator for rubber industry
