| Notes | Origin and production: Poppyseed Oil is obtained by pressing and/or extracting the seed of poppy (Papaverls somniferum). Main cultivation areas of poppy are India, Asia minor, and the Balkan countries. Subsequent refining leaves an oil of pale-yellow colour and almost neutral taste. Storage: Light protected, not above room temperature, in tightly sealed containers (nitrogen blanketed). Usage: Poppyseed Oil refined is appreciated as edible oil. Based on ist drying properties it is used in the production of high-grade paints. |
