NOTES
This carboxylic acid is vital to industry. It is used heavily in the production of textiles, particularly nylon.
The production of nylon comes from a reaction with hexamethylene diamine, also supplied by Parchem.
Adipic acid can also be found in the production of foods as a flavoring agent to add tartness.
It is an emulsifier for Drilling Muds and Fluids as well. It maintains the viscosity of the drilling mud and prevents fluid loss.
