Providing diverse products to meet a variety of applications is one of Parchem – fine & specialty chemicals’ hallmarks.  Since the company’s inception, it has consistently maintained a reputation of offering an expansive portfolio of products in a broad array of markets. One of the many raw materials provided in a diverse range of specifications and grades is Lanolin fatty acid.

Lanolin fatty acid [CAS# 68424-43-1] is a pale yellow, wax-like substance that is produced by purifying the byproducts of the production of natural wool grease.  The acid is primarily used in detergents, shampoos, shaving creams, and a variety of other personal care products.  Additionally, Lanolin alcohols can be produced from Lanolin fatty acid which is rich in moisturizing lipids like cholesterol. It has been recognized that Lanolin alcohols are widely regarded as being effective water-in-oil emulsifiers. This is the reason Lanolin fatty acid is commonly used to manufacture skin care products and topical creams for pharmaceutical purposes.

Apart from cosmetic and pharmaceutical uses, Lanolin fatty acid is also used in industrial applications.  Technical grade lanolin fatty acid is used in water-proofing and lubricating applications, where rust and corrosion prevention is needed.

Parchem is dedicated to a customer-centric approach by not only offering a broad array of products, but ensuring we are providing optimal service accurately, timely, and on budget. As a leading supplier of Lanolin Fatty Acid products to the global personal care, pharmaceutical, and industrial markets, we are committed to meeting our partners’ requirements.
